Christian Counselling by a Qualified Counsellor

Individuals - Families - Couples Therapy

I want you and your family to live abundantly: whole, purposeful, complete, fulfilled lives. Sharing the journey with empathy and understanding, we will work together to move from where you are now to where you want to be.

I work with individuals of all ages, couples and families. Meet with me in person or via online video session, in a safe and calm environment. I also offer phone counselling.

  • What happens during a counselling session?

I often start the first session by asking about your reasons for coming, your background & your hopes for counselling.

We’ll set goals for you together: achievable, positive steps. I'll help you explore the issues that brought you here & their impact upon you. We'll work together patiently to achieve your goals as you understand yourself, your strengths & struggles better.

I'll offer ongoing support & guidance, such as:

    • strategies to help you manage difficult emotions & behaviours
    • 'homework' to practise new skills & explore specific issues
    • assessing your progress
    • adjusting your therapy plan.

Counselling sessions are confidential. You are free to speak honestly & to explore your thoughts, feelings & behaviours, knowing that you won't be judged. I'm a listening ear, not a critic.

At the end of each session, you can book another appointment if you feel that you need it. Or you can decide later whether to meet with me again. There's no pressure.

  • What is Christian counselling?

Christian counselling incorporates Biblical faith-based principles when addressing mental health or spiritual issues.

Christian counselling acknowledges that the human mind, emotions & spirit are interconnected. It seeks to promote wellbeing in all these dimensions, and to foster practical coping & relational skills for life's challenges.

When addressing clients' needs, I can draw both on modern psychology & on Christian perspectives. For example, I might use standard therapy techniques to identify a negative thought pattern, then suggest appropriate prayers or Bible readings for the client to reflect on.

Christian counsellors' ethics reflect Biblical values, as well as general counselling ethical standards.

For more info, visit the Christian Counsellors Association of Australia website.

  • How much will it cost?

I charge $85 for a one hour session.

  • How do I book a session with you?

It's simple. Go to my secure booking page to book & pay online in one step.
Pay by credit/debit card payment at the time of booking, via secure payment gateway.

If you prefer not to book or pay via Abound's website: please contact me to arrange an alternative method.

  • I'd like to have a counselling session in person. How do I arrange this?

When you make your booking online, please mark it in the Comments field as 'in person'. I'll contact you to arrange a meeting place that suits you & me.

I live near Canberra, in southeastern NSW. I'm happy to arrange in-person sessions within one hour's drive of my home.

Have you been impacted by covid-related measures?

The 'covid era' brought unexpected challenges for all of us. Australians experienced sudden and forced changes, anxiety, injury, separation & loss. For many people, the pain & the consequences are still present.

I have a special interest & concern for people affected by the events and attitudes that surrounded covid-19. You are not alone.

Above all else guard your heart, because from it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 4: 23
